Default How much weight will the tailgate support

I want to load my atv in the bed instead of pulling a trailer. My atv is 700lbs. I know my ramps will hold the weight but I'm worried the cables holding the tailgate might snap. Anyone know the tailgate capacity?

Inspect your cables. If they are in poor condition I wouldn't advise it

I've had nearly 1k pounds of bagged concrete on the tailgate of my 07 and it done just fine. It holds my 800lb ATV and my dirtbike with no issues!

You could also lay a sheet of plywood in the bed to distribute the weight

At work I set 2000 pound pallets of feed in the back of trucks and I've gotta set it half on the tailgate then slide it ahead and I've noticed no problems and I've seem some pretty beat up trucks
