Default How much oil

I have an 07 F150 XLT with the 5.7. Going to start doing the changes myself instead of dropping $60 everytime. I was thinking it was just over 5 or 6 liters, but not sure. Should I dump in 5 and check and go from there, just curious on how many I should pick up? And do you guys have any experience with the extended life oils?

The 5.4 v8 is suppose to hold 7 quarts of oil. But mine usually takes less than that. Like in between 6-7 quarts since there's always some old oil left in there. I pour 6 in there and start checking and adding till I get it where I want it.

Wow really? I didn't think it was that much. Does that mean the 5.7 holds more or about the same?

There is no such thing as a 5.7. Only engines available in the 04-08's are the 4.2 V6 and 4.6 and 5.4 V8's

Yep, my mistake. Thank's guys. Auto repair is not my thing, not real knowledgable on the matter. But I can build a house fro mthe ground up. Thanks again guys. Just looking to save a few bucks wherever I can, and $60 for an oil change seems ridiculous to me.
