How hard?
Go look for the thread started by s vars "the ultimate cam phaser repair". If you are a diesel mechanic shouldn't be that bad. You will need a puller to remove the harmonic balancer and a puller to remove the power steering pump pulley. If you go by the book you will need to discharge the ac to get the passenger side valve cover off, I didn't I went by what others here have posted and loosened the line brackets and was able to get the cover off. If you take your time and turn it at the right angle it will come off. I used vice grips to hold the cam to remove and tighten the cam phasers. You will need a torque wrench, and either the fan clutch tool or a big adjustable wrench. A 1/4 inch swivel ratchet and swivel extensions cam in handy on the valve covers.
The cam phaser timing set job is easy its getting to it that takes the time! Good luck.
