Default How to check E-Brake

So...I read a few post from members, but I think I may have the issue where my e-brake is slightly engaged. At times I feel I need a heavier foot for acceleration, especially in stop and go traffic. As if the truck’s gas pedal is “sticky.” However, it could be me still getting use to a heavier truck from my last one (02 Dodge Ram regular cab 2WD). Any comments on how to check to see if it's engaged or not, or preventative maintenance ensure it won't in the future? Thanks!

Adjustment

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.

    Fig. Brake adjusting hole plug

  3. Remove the brake adjusting hole cover from the backing plate.
  4. Turn the brake adjuster screw to expand the parking brake shoe and linings until they drag against the drum-in-hat rotor.
  5. Back off the brake adjuster screw until no drag is evident.

It's gonna be a little star gear that you turn to adjust. I believe that's what your asking for sorry if it's not.

Dallas, GA...I'm in Marietta, it's a 30 minute drive. They also have one in Rockmart too. Next one is June 18th.
