how to aim headlights down and HID question
ok so its no surprise our stock headlights suck. I can't see anything at night. I am getting some HID in the stock housing and I noticed one of my headlights aims higher than the other. How do I rectify this? Also, do I need a relay harness or resistor or anything else so they don't flicker or get any lights? last question, do you suggest 35w or 55w for stock housing.
Simply put it is not suggested to put HIDs in a stock housing. It will scatter too much light and blind on coming drivers. For anyone else who comments on this lets keep it civil and informative.
awesome.
LEDs are a better option for stock housings as long as you don't buy the cheap $37 ones on Amazon. There are a few people on here with good experience with LEDs in the stock housings that could recommend a good pair. They would probably run about the same price as a set of HIDs and come with a cutoff shield so you don't endanger other peoples wives, fathers, and sons.
This is in a sense false. The light will scatter up higher than you could aim your headlights down. In order to aim your lights down enough to not blind oncoming traffic you'll probably be getting less light down the road than you are with your stock housings.
And another thing I’ll reiterate, leds are a better option. The diodes can be made much smaller and can sort of mimic a filament. A good set will also offer a cutoff shield on the low beam. This will ensure glare is not thrown into oncoming traffic.
4x4truckleds is what a lot of us around here use. You’ll pay in the $120 range for a set I believe.
Do yourself and other traffic a favor and don’t cheap out on a $50 set from eBay.

Ok so I guess the go census is that led are better. Crazy that led have taken over every bulb. So would these cars need any extra relay harness or resistor or anything? I’ve heard that some cars need them some don’t .
For headlights only, there can be some issues with the brights if you run fog lights. The truck looks for a certain current returning from the headlight bulb to know if a bulb is burnt out or weather it is on high/low beam. This is so the truck can turn the fog lights off when high beams are activated. LEDs take less electricity to operate than incandescent bulbs do so it confuses the truck. If you have this issue there is a quick 5 minute fix called the bambi mod which will solve this solution and allow you to run fog lights with the high beams. The LED bulbs should come with everything you need as long as you dont go the cheap route.
