First off, Thanks for your service and stay safe in the desert. I'm active duty military myself so I understand the low on cash part also. Exactly how much cash are you looking to spend? I assume you're wanting to show off some custom work when you go home on leave, but 2 weeks doesn't give you much time at all. Personally I'd just save my money, have a good time while you're home on leave and while you're over in the desert collecting that tax free and imminent danger pay put it away. When you get back you'll be able to do all the custom work you want. I'd go with one of Troyer's package deals that includes exhaust, CAI and custom tunes.
