Hey guys im new to the community but not new to the site I've lingered around for help here and then.. NOW i manned up and registered, so I've seen this thread before and now i wanted to see if there's anything new regarding this discussion?
Yeah, I understand because HIDS are best for the width of the light.. but LEDS are best for the consistency of it.
It's more than just width of light; it's the headlight assembly built to house the light. So many folks have bought HID kits, then installed them in a non projection headlight housing. All this does is create a "splatter" of annoying light to those you share the road with. If you go the route of HID's, buy projection headlight housings needed to focus the HID light in a beam.
As to LED, not seeing much on them yet for headlights; they are good for fog lights, taillights and parking lights.

Bucko is spot on here. If you do go the route of HIDs, do it the right way and get the correct headlight housing. I meet many HID/non-projection setups on the roads around here at night. Mismatched setups are bad. They're even worse on lifted/leveled trucks where the lights weren't 're-aimed'. They're blinding, and a danger to fellow motorists.
