hidden winch?
i really like the idea of having a winch inside my bumper and do not want to run a offroad style bumper The issue i see is the tranny cooler "i beilve thats what it is" in the perfect spot to fit a nice winch. Has anyone done this? ive seen it on a couple dodges. chevy's and 3/4 ton trucks i use my truck mostly for fire calls and pulling buddys out of the woods so a winch would be a nice addition to it/ also i do not want to run a winch on a reciver hitch.
heres where i wanna put it

any ideas? id love to hear some more ideas for this project id like to tackle

I responded in turn, requesting Blueprints of this kit to assist with manufacturing my own unit since they no longer offer it from their company. (If they do honor my request, there may be a way to make it available to others who may need it for their vehicle.)Otherwise, thank you for your suggestion... the Front Receiver Cross-Bar may be enough to support a winch-plate mounted to it & it would place it about the proper height. If I do successfully manufacture something for my 2005 XLT 4X4, I will post Photos/Information!
Again, thank you!
I don't see them giving away blueprints. I don't think I have pics of my old setup on my ranger. Doesn't help I traded it 2 years ago for the fifty.
It's not hard to do though, cut the hitch to fit between the rails, weld some plates to rest on top of and on the inside edge of the frame, drill holes, use proper strength hardware to secure. I pulled a couple trucks that were stuck with it and it stayed in place.
