im not bashing on you, but its just that, HIDs are not meant to be run with our trucks housing. I had 55w 5000k HIDs and sold them, way to bright and would have gotten pulled over soon. I am just waiting to get my truck back so I can add 35w 4300k or 5000k HIDs.

but he pulled you over for the safety of other drivers and those who stare directly at the beam(lol). as long as it was a warning then you are ok.

Staring directly at the beam? It's called oncoming traffic.

THey're blinding and illegal, especially for those of us who aren't teenagers and have optical issues.

Do it correctly or don't do it.

Im not a teenager and i have optical issues and they dont bother me and the way i always did it never blinded because i turn the left down slightly more than the right since the left is always the side of oncoming traffic and im sure i aimed them too high because i didnt do that when i painted my housings and had to redirect my lights not to mention the cops already dont like me from my younger days is probably the real reason i got pulled over

1-Are these in projectors? If no remove kit and throw it away.

You have quite a bit of disrespect for oncoming traffic if you are running these without projectors.

I run HIDs in the stock housing. just adjust your beam so they dont blind the crap out of everyone else.

And 35w or 55w determine brightness. the 5000k or 6000k determine color, so I dont know about legal limits.

Also in IL they are legal.

Staring at the beam is natural selection at it's finest.

Okay, read the reg, and find me a DOT legal PnP aftermarket HID kit.

There aren't any.
