Default Hi Beam Problem

Hello everyone, and thank you in advance. I have looked through the threads but couldn't find quite this same problem.

2007 F150 Lariat.
Factory Fog Lights,
No daytime running lights.
Automatic lighting (the side-markers and headlights turn on when it is getting dark and the engine is running).

1. When the turn-signal stalk is moved to select hi-beam, nothing happens. Meaning, the hi-beams do not operate. the low-beams remain illuminated.
2. The blue-high beam indicator in the dash does not illuminate when high beams are selected with the turn-signal stalk switch.
3. When the dash headlight switch is pulled to select fog-lights, the high-beams illuminate (In both automatic position and when turned to manual headlight selection position). I'm unsure if this is illuminating the hi and low beams, but there is a definate change to hi-beam illumination, and, the dash hi-beam light illuminates to about 50% brightness which is normal when the fog lights are selected. Also, the fog lights do illuminate.

Everything else, including side-markers, turn signals, brake lights are working normally.

Any suggestions?

I'm not familiar with the Bambi mod, but no, no mods. The hi-beams worked as designed until two days ago.

I'm wondering if it's a grounding issue since Bambi Mod is pretty much just adding a permanent ground to a relay pin.

I've read-up now on the Bambi mod, and though the system is somewhat acting that way, I've checked the fuse-box and relay for a mode, there's no mod. I've also checked the appropriate fuses and swapped the headlight relay with a known good relay... still exactly the same problem. Up until just a couple of days ago, everything worked normally.

If it just started happening it could be your "stalk" switch is broken. Mine recently failed and I can't get the high beams on like you mentioned, and if I move it around like crazy it will intermittently work. Easy way to tell is to get to the harness and short out the high beam wires, if that works you have a broken switch.

Thanks, I've pretty much come to the conclusion it's the multi-function switch. I'll be changing it on wednesday.

Just changed the multi-function switch on the column... everything's back to normal. Also, thanks for the Bambi mod mention and link. After I confirmed the repair was good I did the Bambi mod... works good.

Thank you all.
