Well, at 150,000 it's finally time. I will admit that I am not the best when it comes to maintenance. That being said, I am very happy with how well my truck has lasted me. Thus far I have not had to replace anything on this truck due to failure(well. That isn't true. The transmission failed, but it was a known issue with the 4R75). I bought it in 2008 with 32,000 miles on it. I bought all ford parts for the timing job. I also bought a Melling high pressure, high volume pump. This is after 6 hours. As you can see, the passenger side tensioner guide is broken off. I'll also replace the passenger side exhaust manifold while I'm here.

As I have often said, 150,000 miles is not unreasonable life for these long timing chains. It doesn't take much wear in each of 122 link joints to add up to quiet a bit of stretch.
A couple of comments about your photograph. I notice that the Bank 2 (Drivers side) tensioner is extended the full length of its 'possible' travel. This is a function of the stretch - not the usual 'blown seal' bad rap they frequently get. From the photo angle I can't tell about the passenger side tensioner - but this effect often is the cause of slack that destroys guides.
Also, I note the engine is not positioned correctly at the momemt for removing chains. (It's 180º out).
Good luck. There are a bunch of good guys here pulling for you.
The passenger side guide was broken and in the pan. When I get back over there I will get a photo of the seals on the tensioners. I am lucky that I have a friend who is letting me work on it in his shop.
Seems I was sent guides for only the driver side with my Amazon Kit. Luckily the dealer had one in stock. Passenger side. Almost there Bench of parts. The rack isn't from my truck, it is from a Colorado. Neither is the VCT.
I thought the same thing. Mistakes happen, No big deal. My friend used his account through Ford to get the right one ordered, and he got it half price.
I will for sure Prime the pump before I let it run.
Next is the exhaust manifold. I can't wait to have a quiet truck again.
Hope you remove the VCT valve bodies and check/clean/replace the fine filter screen inside - and irrigate - blow out all the small passageways in it before going back together with everything.
So, we got everything back together on Thursday night. It is amazing how quiet these engines are when they are running right. The injectors were the only thing making any sound at all.
Now, There is a pulley noise, along with an intermittent tap, tap, tap. Coming from the Driver side, under the head. I am thinking that it is the Power steering pump. Any thoughts? Just figures, I could have just replaced it.
