How will it be very visible? You don't see any welds. It likely wouldn't even even be welded, it would be panel bonded on. What you see there is at least a 12-15 hour repair, and with how long the panel is, it would likely be wavy. If that came in my shop it would be getting skinned.

misses 3 on the tree
that has to be 1200 to 1500 bucks to fix right.
Maybe try to find a shop that will pound it out and bondo it. I'd probably turn it into my insurance and have it fixed correctly for 500 beans out of pocket. Note I have accident forgiveness so it would no fubar my rates.
Other option is leave it alone and call it a battle scar. Maybe someone else will hit you there soonly and their insurance can fix it. Remember this, you are more likely to have another accident before someone who has not had one is likely to get hit. insurance stats IIRC.

I've been through the same sh*t before when I got rear-ended. I was quoted $5200 for the repair from a professional licensed body shop that a dealer in toronto used. They even said that when replacing the skin they would have to bondo some imperfections. Its not as simple as you think to just slap on a new piece of sheet metal.
And yeah you can replace the entire truck, the body shop will just have more business.

Don't go through insurance if you don't want to have your rates doubled. They may say you have forgiveness but that won't stop them from putting it on your record on filling a claim.
Hell no nothing's happening right there again, that short *** 5'x10' is staying parked right where it's at. And my deductible is $500, and I don't have accident forgiveness, because shelter doesn't offer it -__- and when I got hit by a woman who ran a stop sign and it was a no at fault accident we didn't even claim that $1200 of damage on the insurance so I doubt that ill claim this, my dad wants me to just find a whole used bed and do a bed swap and have it painted, but that's not what I want to do
Even if you go for a new bed it will be extremely hard to find one in good condition. The '08 was the last year that this body was made, that's already 5 years. Even if you do get one in good condition painting it will never give a good result because of all the crevices and difficulty associated with sanding, priming and painting those areas.
Seriously its like someone who scratches a bumper and wants to get an new engine because they think it could be damaged by the impact, just unnecessary. Get a reliable body shop that has been around for a while and that will garantee their work.

You see welds when you open the tailgate, people get worried when buying a used vehicle that had entire body panels welded on and repaired.

It depends where you go and who does it, you can pay 3 grand and get the same result as the guys that do it for $500.

An f150 is a strong truck, some people seriously underestimate the capability of it and how much force it really takes to damage it. Getting a new bed is just serious overkil, its just the skin that's damaged.

I would get a couple quotes from body shops and just go from there. Are you wanting to sell it just because of this?

I live at a blind driveway, she was looking at the kid, not in a child protective seat, and ran under my bumper. Cost me a damn fortune.

I hate it for you. I got clobbered several years ago by a woman who if she had been watching the road would have easily missed me. She was looking down at a child not in a safety seat. I remember it like yesterday.

If your in california look up norco truck center (people are rude and I didn't end up buying from them) however they had allot of 150 truck beds I guess they do conversions ? I would bet they would sell a whole bed since they have so many stacked up.
