Default HELP! Problem with LED tail lights

Hello,

This is my first time asking a forum for help. I have a 2006 F150 and I installed a new set of LED tail lights. They work fine, no hyper flash or anything out of the ordinary except 1 little issue. When my headlights/parking lights are on and I press the brake pedal and release the pedal, my tail lights turn off completely for about 1 second and then the running lights come back on. I don't know what could be causing this issue since they are just plug and play. Any ideas? Thanks.

If you have the daytime running lights, you may need to install what is called a LED decoder/CANBUS module. This adapts the use of LEDs to work with cars that have picky electronics with DRLs

I went thru Over $400 in led lights--high end . I had so much trouble with them failing etc that I went back to oem . Of course I live in a hot state and the closed environment of the headlights fans or not just burnt the led off time and again . I loved the light they just can't take the heat of a retro fit enclosure . I did not try drilling the oem headlights to improve circulation . 2 different expensive sets with remote mounted power supply's. I run with my headlights on all the time on auto .Yes they came from a vendor on here ,I got no satisfaction .I'm sure if I mounted a cell phone in there even with that light fan sun would bake it until it died .I will wait until I buy a truck with factory installed.
Tail l ights were failing and blinking intermittent ,just not worth it .

Did you figure out what was causing it, and how to fix it? Having this same problem.

You need a Canbus adapter.
Also might help to throw on an EP27 flasher.

You need the EP27 flasher relay. The canbus adapter isn't necessary, because our trucks aren't Mercedes or BMWs (those do need canbus compatible LEDs)

If you replace the third brake light with an LED, you'll need a resistor across those wires to make cruise work. There's always a load there and the cruise control system checks for that. So if you have an LED there with no load, cruise doesn't work.

Just a note about CANBUS:
I had to get one. I replaced fogs and heads with LED. The fogs would flicker and the heads would sometime stay on HI. Canbus fixed it
Maybe it was the brand I bought

@SCORGE There's probably something different between a 2006 and a 2007. I don't have fog lamps on my truck and never needed a canbus adapter or canbus compatible LEDs.
