Recommend you clean the throttle body and MAF sensor. Have you recently disconnected or replaced the battery?

What your wanting to do is to remove the throttlebody from the truck, get some crc throttlebody cleaner and clean it really good. This is one of the easiest and cheapest things to do first.

There are several how to's on the forum that should help.

A dirty throttlebody can cause running issues such as you describe.

How long ago did you disconnect the battery?

There is a idle/fuel relearn process that the trucks computer will go through when this is done. There are steps to take that makes this relearn take place quickly but ultimately the truck should relearn on its own. May take 10+ or so miles.
