Default This is a tough call

What can you get away with short term? Clean vcts, vct housings , clean phasors , put metal tensioners on, new chains, new guides if that doesn't work new vcts . . Clean passages on cam journals . Inspect for worn rollers and bad lash adjusters . Clean pcv valve cover . Clean cam sensor housings .
I just don't know if you can really rejuvenate phasors .
I know I did an engine flush immediately before timing job, it broke stuff loose and it coded worse as expected . But I replaced everything and its all quiet and good .
You may get away with $600 instead of 1400. But its a desperation game . Its painful to go back in there. If your going to do it I would do engine flush first .
