Default Help with next mod!!

Hey all so I have a couple questions about what I'm going to do next! Let me explain what I ultimately want to do and hopefully you guys can help fill in the blanks for me!

Right now I am in the process of calling around local exhausts shops just to get the best price to install my system. I'm looking to do the entire exhaust system: headers, high flow cats, and probably a si/do magnaflow or flowmaster muffler with the tips at a 45 degree angle. Other than that I only plan on a cold air kit and a tuner and that's about all I really want to do for performance.

I am also going to start wheel and tire shopping once school gets out for the summer and I start working full time again and am going to run an aftermarket set of wheels in the summer and the stockers in the winter. I am probably going to buy aftermarket 18s or 20s and am probably going to try and stay close to the stock tire size if I can.

I have read around the forum that the edge tuner seems to be the way to go around here so I would probably go that route myself. I have a question between the CS and the CTS though. What are the major differences because I couldn't really make heads or tails other than a hundred dollar price difference? Also which one is going to better fit for what I would be planning to use it for?

Any and all advice/suggestions/comments would be greatly appreciated and I thank you all in advance!

Zach

the CAI is mostly for looks and sound but can create a lean condition... look at MDG's post

Yeah I've seen that exact post actually! I would probably run a custom tune anyway though!

The cs and cts are the same devices software wise. The cts is touch screen as the the cs isn't. I have the cts and love it. But a lot of guys are now going with an sct tuner because you can get custom tunes for them. I would've bought and sct but I got a steal of a deal on my cts. If your wanting custom tunes go with sct or a gryphon from power hungry performance.

Okay so if I got the Cs that wasn't touch screen I couldn't get a custom time on it to accompany the CAI? I was under the impression you could with the edge? I thought I also read that the gryphon was no longer being made? I'm probably wrong but I could have swore I read somewhere.

Would the SCT be better for what I am trying to run? I'm not really looking to build a power hungry truck. Just a little more "pep in the step" and something to accompany my short list of mods.

Sorry for the noob questions but I've only ever ran the sct flashpaqs on my last two trucks so I'm still fairly new to the tuner scene.

For your list of mods, headers, exhaust, CAI I'd go with sct just because its got more to play with. And I believe but dont hold me to it they only quit making gryphons with the cs and cts but you can still get the original edge gryphon.

Okay so maybe I'll just look into the SCT then! I think you're right now that you mention the whole gryphon deal I forgot about that

Mainly because I was looking at the pacesetter kit that had come with the y pipe that will run back to the factory muffler location and I could just run the cat back from there. I could just find a set of headers without the y pipe and run true duals I suppose

Just ordered the SCT 3015 through Franchi Motorsports here on the forums! He was doing a deal for the people with the used 3015s could trade up and he was selling the used 3015s he had at a discounted price so I couldn't help but pull the trigger! He was super helpful and answered all of my questions and even sent me in the right direction for custom tunes if I need them down the road!

Super stoaked! Can't wait for it to get here now!
