I would agree with you on the plugs but the coils I don't, reading a lot of reviews on the Accel coils and ordering them myself I don't see why spending a (lot) more on Motorcraft makes any sense.

Now that you say that 2002vertgt It does come with the internal parts and the external parts are swapped from the old engine.

Anybody have any idea on why my old engine at 80000 miles would have just all of the sudden spun a bearing? Sounds like something that doesn't happen too often. I know it could have been a lemon but what are the root causes of a spun bearing? That coupled with the low oil pressure sounds like maybe my pump or manifolds where bad? I would just like to know everything that could cause a bearing to spin off

Lack of lubrication causing the crankshaft to come in contact with the bearing, thus causing it to spin. That is if it was a main bearing. If it was a rod bearing, same cause most likely.

Okay, so my follow up question would be what would be the causes of lack of lubrication on my bearings?

poor maintenance would be at top of list.
if your getting a new shortblock I would make sure the heads off the old motor are good.it maybe worthwhile to have them rebuilt while they're off. but at least make sure they change the sparkplugs while they have em out. as for the oil pump I cant imagine an engine rebuilder would warranty the motor unless it had a new oil pump. but check to make sure.

Thanks bud. I just took such good care of the thing while i had it, so I know maintanence when it was with me wasnt an issue. And the dealership said the guy who owned it the first 66000 of its life had it regularly serviced but who knows. Ill definately check to make sure the oil pump and the heads are good thanks for the advice and I already have eight new motorcraft spark plugs and coils ready to go with it. What maybe maintanance-wise could have been done to have prevented this?

Unfortunately things happen and parts sometimes prematurely fail regardless of how well they are taken care of. Sometimes there is no explanation

Thanks for the help anybody, got my truck back today and its running strong! Engine sounds much much louder tho than before, is this just because its new? Almost sounds like it has a different exhaust on it, but the exhaust wasn't changed. Is this a cause for concern?
