Unhappy Help

Dropped a tooth brush down through throttle body. Can't see it. Does the bottom go down in motor? Or is it just an air box ? Don't want to pull the motor apart if I can just leave it in there.HELP 5.4 motor. Thanks

It isn't difficult to remove the throttle body. Remove it and get that tooth brush out of the engine!

You want to leave the tooth brush in there? Seriously????? Remove the throttle body, it consists of 2 electrical connections, a clip on a hose and 4, 10mm bolts. You should have removed it to clean the throttle body in the first place.

Nobody has made fun of you. You asked if you could leave a tooth brush in your engine. Think about that for a minute....

Default brush

I am a carb guy. I know just about nothing about these newer motors. I thought I could handle it. I had the proper cleaner. I stuck one of the big tooth brushes in to hold the plate open.was almost done bumped the brush and down it went. I didn't know if that plenum went into the motor or not.

Stuff happens. Like mentioned above, take the throttle body off (it's very easy) and retrieve the toothbrush.

Take a deep breath, get a bright flashlight, locate the tooth brush, and then offer the neighbor a beer to use his 7 year olds arn to reach down into the intake and get the toothbrush out. Problem solved.
