Default Headliner flapping - how to restick?

Folks,

My headliner fabric is starting to peel back at the point closest to the windshield at the top. The fabric is very thin; is there any adhesive I can use to tack it back down?

Thanks in advance.

I would try one of the spray adhesives. Mask the area off so you don't get the mother of all overspray everywhere. Let it tack up real good such that it doesn't soak through the cloth.
P.S. I use the same technique to fix insole liners in shoes, LOL.

3M makes some spray adhesive that works good for this.. follow the above directions.

The spray adhesives that you can buy in the stores, even the 3M adhesive (which is the best in the stores), are only a temporary fix. The only way to correct the problem is to take to an upholstery shop to have the headliner replaced. What is happening is the fabric is separating from the sponge and no amount of spray adhesive will restick it. You have to replace the sponge and fabric together unfortunately. Replacing the headliner should be about $250.

It’s relatively minor right now, but I appreciate knowing what the eventually cost will be, thanks!

Same thing is happening on mine, I was thinking about trying some steam to re-stick it. To me, even if I have to redo it every so often, it’s better than paying for a whole new headliner.

Watch
video. Seems to work for many as a viable stop gap.

Great source of other good "hacks" as well.
