I'm having my own issues with my new alt and newer battery and finding out that just because they are new doesn't mean they are good. I would test the battery and alt or take it to autozone or advance for free just to rule those two out

Make sure they get tested properly, i.e. with a load on them and not just testing for voltage. Even a small battery can have 12-14v. It's the load that matters.

Go buy a cigarette lighter power plug adapter with wires on it and put it in the 12v power port and hook up a meter. See what the voltage is doing. I run about 14.5 volts cruising down the road. See if the voltage changes with the lights dimming. http://www.walmart.com/ip/41480035?w...710969&veh=sem
