Headlight problem
Hello guys, my f150s headlights turn on automatically when its night time even if i take the headlight switch off of automatic, does anyone know how to make the headlights turn on only by moving the switch no matter if its night time? Thank you
There's a sensor on the dash that tells the lights if its dark or not when on "automatic" mode. It's the one that flashes red as a little alarm decoy thing. Cover that and see if it changes anything.
But yes, most vehicles have day-time running lights. Atleast newer vehicles do. The lights are always on while driving. They are dimmer, but still on to let people know that you are driving. On old F-150s you could push the e-brake down a little to trip a sensor into not turning the lights on but not actually engaging the E-brake at all. On these trucks, I think you need to wire it different to turn the lights off.

Like corey_lax said, is it the Daytime Running Lights (DRL)? If so, go into your underhood fuse box (drivers side) and there'll be a relay for DRL if you have it. Pull it out and see if it fixes your problem. If you don't have the relay, then you don't have DRL's and it's a different issue.
Otherwise like Techrep said, you have a bad switch or someone's done some funky wiring.
