Default headlight problem

So I was attempting to install my hid kit on my truck and when everything.was was wired up the passenger side wouldn't work. So I had my electrician look at it and it was wired correctly and then both sides worked but when I put on high beams all the lights would go out.. but now my passenger side lights are dim and the driver side lights are fine but the passenger side comes and goes for when they want to work right any ideas? Also my fog lights just come on and off as they please really dim as noted in the photo anyone have any ideas? I am calling.the company that I got the hid's from in the morning I just really don't want to have to take my truck to the shop

Who did you buy the hidden from? eBay? Sounds like it could be a bad ground, wrong ballasts, or a number of things

Hmm I'm gonna go ahead and say it's more than likely a bad ballast just because I experienced the same issues when I bought that Ebay ****. If you didn't buy it from Ebay please tell us where you did buy them because some kits just aren't built like others. Oh and one more thing some bulbs require you to reverse their polarity for reasons I'm unsure, but i know it was necessary on all my ballasts and bulbs.

I did get them from ebay but I thought it looked like a batter one of. The kits on there. I knw my grounds are good bc i checked en with a volt meter I hope it's just a bad Ballest but in the pic was took with the kit uninstalled and one side was still dim so I'm thinking a wiring in the actual headlights bc it will flicker from dim to bright as I go down the road

Uninstall the HID's and quit blinding oncoming traffic. Problem solved.

Ugh... Postal, come on, we all know the two extreme opinions when it comes to HID upgrades. No reason to bash, just try to help him out.

I agree it sounds like a ballast issue, could be current draw vs. current available. I've seen ballasts (particularly lower-end) that just refuse to fire unless they're not fused. That's never the fix, don't ever install a harness without an in-line fuse. Try a new fuse first since the cheap one that came with it might be, well, just that, cheap. If it still just blinks and buzzes but never fires, then I'd say it's time to get new ballasts.

It's not an extreme opinion, it's a legal/safety opinion.

Not DOT approved? Shouldn't be on the street, and for that matter, legally can't be sold for on street use.

Dude... we know. It is a pita when you get blinded but we've all done this. Don't get all charged up and bash hids in stockers, it solves nothing. I have projectors in mine from TRS but I don't get upset about stock housings with hid because I did it for years. Besides, the DOT and law enforcement don't usually bother.
