Default Headlight high beam indicator?

My '05 FX4 doesn't have an indicator light to let me know when my high beams are on. I've pissed off many drivers since I've had the truck simply because I forget that I have them on. Its been like this since I have owned the truck. I'm assuming that something has been disabled or there is a switch that has gone out or something. Anyone else had this problem or have any ideas of what I could check?

if you can turn them on and off, i would think that the bulb is burned off... check behind the dash board.

I assure it has one; it's required by Federal law. The bulb is either burnt out, or the socket is loose. Cluster removal is fairly easy as is the bulb replacement.
