I have an 04 with a 4.6 and want to do the same. I might have to have it dealer installed because of my 100k dealer warrenty. I have delt with alot of headers in the past on my older rigs and Headmans were great, not so hooker. All the older Fords I installed headers on came alive and got better MPG! That said the stock manifolds look like a serious bottle neck!

I would go with long tubes for the best results, but they are a major PITA to install on our trucks. Pacesetter makes a good set I believe.

I too am looking for headers. Anyone put them on a 4.6 and notice a torque loss? I have been told many times you gain the higher end horsepower but loose some torque by installing them. The dyno numbers look okay but has anyone experienced the difference?

Long tube headers make torque and will give you a throatier exhaust note. Shorty's will make a little more HP but dont make as much torque as long tubes. JBA makes a nice piece. I would stay far far away from pace setter unless you like rust.
