Default Headache rack info???

Alright, so I found an awesome deal on a headache rack, toolbox, and bedrails. All of em for 400 matching set. But it is on a 09+ model. I was wondering if it would fit. I have been searching all day for specs but for the life of me can't find any. And what better place for friendly advice then here ya know. So any input would be great.

I have a 2006 scab Xl 6.5 ft bed 2wd.

The set is for a 5ft bed, but I figured i could cut the rails under the box, and weld/bolt the to the box and bed about a foot down. And just add an extra bolt to the box rack combo to hold it down.

Think this would work? Or are the newer trucks wider?

Change of plans. No headache rack cuz my girls bmw has a crack in the block. So were holding off on any purchase like that.
