its pretty hard to answer this question because most head units have all the same features. they layout will be different depending on brand and model but still all very similar. there is no one right answer to this question. ask 50 people and youll get 50 different answers. i have a pioneer and i love it.

Good answer!! I agree. I have had a couple different ones. My last one was a Pioneer AVIC-D3 and it was great.

I have the Panasonic Strada unit. Love it. As said before, they're a lot of great units out there. Find a few with the features and reviews you like, then find the best price. Thats my .02

My Panasonic is just a cable that plugs into the back and a ran the iPod end to the glove box where the iPod live now. It's also a video cable so I can watch movies from my iPod on the head unit.

all the double din head units ive seen require you to buy a special cable and then after that its easy. all the ipod controls are done on the head unit. the cable can be pricey so shop around. i got lucky, when i bought mine i worked at an electronics store so got it for $1.30
