Default HBS Leveling kit

Hey guys Im getting ready to order a Hellbentsteel 2.5" leveling kit for my 05 lariat crewcab and was just wondering on their website there are two different 2.5" leveling kits. one is "billet aluminum". What material is the other made of? And which one is better? I was told not to get the billet aluminum and to get a different material (forget what its called) because it will absorb more of the shock when off roading compared to the aluminum. Thanks for you help!

Most I've seen recommend getting the Powdercoated steel version of either the HBS or the AS

As far as I've seen. There are some other kits like the rough country or daystar that are made from synthetic materials.

Default Hell Bent STEEL

Go for the steel one man. For one its steel. Two, it looks nicer as a finished product. I've had mine in for over two years now - never a problem. Also, I think the aluminum one is more like a puck that fits in there, while the steel one is like two steel plates welded to the ends of a steel tube, with the holes in the plates to fit the stock bolts. Just seems more solid, and looks more durable and incognito. Hope this helps.

Do you have the 2 or 2.5 inch lift? Did you detect any change in the ride or handeling? I plan on putting them in once this ef..en winter ends.

I have the 3" leveling kit on my 2006 4x4. The only real difference is I feel higher up off the road. After an alignment, its pretty much stock. My headlights are aimed a little high now, but not a big deal at all. Also, you cant see the tip of the nose as well to approximate distance (parking etc.), but you just have to know your truck, or get used to it, or both.
