My trucks payload is 1535#. I wouldnt go too far over that. I would have gotten a 2.7 payload package but there wasnt one on the lot, and I rarely load heavy things in my truck anyways.
With my payload I can tow a trailer up to its rated capacity of 7600 which is plenty for me.

Default 90 lbs cement bags

I transported 50 90lb bags of cement mix today.
I made two trips @ 2250 lbs each.
This was my max that I was comfortable with for 2001 supercrew with triton v8.

TraveleTraveled 15 miles one way at no more than 50 miles an hour...

HAPPY 4TH!!!

QUOTE=Friedabrests;5956764]hello!

I recent got a 2008 5.4 lariat that, upon looking up the vin, has the "towing" package? supposedly I can haul 33,000lbs.

I'm wondering, does that towing package affect what I can haul in my bed? i'm thinking 1,000 lbs is the safe bet here.[/QUOTE]

I was hauling about 2500 pounds of concrete blocks in my F250 the other day, and didn't feel too well. The front end was awfully light. But the forklift couldn't get the load near middle of the bed either. And I was using air bags too.

Half tons are more for looks and towing small and mid size trailers. They're not for the really heavy loads.

Oh lord! Mix in a trailer brake controller and a trailer! Too many trips like that is just asking to wear out that truck-as in trucks with axles, bearings, brakes, etc, made to handle 7000 lbs on them constantly are called Super Duties. That payload rating was made for three trips.

Our company ‘04 Heritage SCLB squats pretty solidly around 1200 lbs with enough concrete bags in the back. 2250 is probably me hoping I still have front wheels firmly on the ground.

Ive honestly hauled 5000 lbs in my Ram 2500 diesel. It squat but believe it or not, it wasnt smashing the stops.
I also had on a semi regular basis, gooseneck trailer pin weight around 2200 lbs. It handles that good.

And in every conceivable way, the F250 is a way better truck(year for year) so I am surprised it "didnt feel too well".
