Default hauling concrete bags, weight limit?

hello!

I recent got a 2008 5.4 lariat that, upon looking up the vin, has the "towing" package? supposedly I can haul 33,000lbs.

I'm wondering, does that towing package affect what I can haul in my bed? i'm thinking 1,000 lbs is the safe bet here.

Check your Payload amount, probably on the door jamb. That's the maximum weight your truck can carry including people etc.

No way it's rated for 33,000 pounds. Lol. But as far as bed carrying capacity, take your payload from the sticker, and subtract the weight of anything you've added inside or onto the truck. That will tell you how much weight you can carry in the bed without being over capacity.

Default You should be able to carry 1000 pounds or so

much more than than that I would use a trailer .If I have to I watch the tires on the rear and how she squats . With full tire pressure you don't want to splay tires out much because damage is accumulative . My tires are$ 250 each not wanting to damage them . Watch your front end coming up can lead to bad steering. . Its important how you load the bed get the load forward of the wheels and on the wheels not much behind wheels . You can save your truck by doing two loads when you see its too much . I have put 1500 in it but its not a good idea , I would say 15 -80 pounds bags /20 -60 pound bags with out other stuff in bed . I quit using 80 pound bags just to hard on human frame .Now if you are carrying other people reduce that some .
No on the 33k with a tow package and brake controller with trailer brakes 10k would be it for me . I pull 5.5k and she doesn't like it, tandem trailer with tow and controller . Plus stopping is more important than going . A hill and emergency can soil your pants . I take it very easy towing .I'm polite but 50/ 55 is it for me , slow accel and long slow stopping .
Improper loading and wrong tongue weight can do you in .
Start out slow and test your adjustment on brake controller , I use manual control on trailer brakes if I can at all stop lights ,try to save truck brakes . I truly believe some people should not tow at all ,they are liable to kill us all . My friend is reactive so he buys big used travel trailer never checks lug nuts or inflation first trip 800mi tire and rim come off three other wheels hold at 70mph, tears up travel trailer cost $2000 to get it on the road again . Do I think he learned his lesson nooooooooo .If you are reactive instead of proactive you aren't going to learn much . I warned him before he took off . .

For a supercrew base model with 4x4 and the 5'5" bed, you're looking at 1,660 pounds of payload, if it's 2x4 then you're at 1,810 pounds. That's with a base model, if you are up in Lariat territory or similar, that number will go down. Any modifications/additions/removals need to be accounted for accordingly.

Mine's a crew cab with the 7,700lb gross vehicle weight. My payload is around 1,700# without exceeding the rear axle weight.
