Default Has Anyone Used These...Any Problems?

So I am looking at getting a set of painted headlights and I wanted to know if anyone had any problems with them? I will probably put a little extra silicon around the outside just to insure they will not leak but I wanted a little more feedback before I pull the trigger.

Thanks for the help.

I've heard pretty much all of them are crap and leak and fog up, etc. I'm going to get these: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HLA-009456801/
Cheaper than genuine HD but good quality.

I asked myself the same question but I have heard it was such a pain in the to do it yourself (mostly just trying to get the lights apart). I might try to attempt it and then if I mess something up I will buy a set of these.

Just trying to do some howework.

Those look good. Yeah I have heard the same thing about a lot of the aftermarket lights as well. When you get them let me know how you like them. I might attempt to paint mine myself but as mentioned in my other post it can be a a royal pain.

I've bought sets, painted them, resealed, and sold with good success. The sets bought on Ebay for cheap are more than likely to fog. I've had good success in opening and resealing them too (no fog).

I don't know why the sets fog; must be cheap in the way they seal them.

Pop them in the oven at 250 degrees for no more than 10 minutes. They will pry apart. BE SURE TO GET ALL THE OLD SEALER OUT OF THE CHANNEL!!!! Then head to Home Depot and buy a tube of black silicone and a cheap chauk gun. Apply a good bead (fill the channel) with the silicone, insert the lense, and use some heavy duty rubber bands to hole the lens in place for about 3 to 4 hours. You'll have great results. I've done 3 sets now, with none fogging.

Bucko-

Thanks for the tips yeah I think I will try to tackle this as you described and if for some really strange reason I FUBAR I will look at buying an aftermarket set. This is my daily driver so I can't not have working headlights. Thanks for the suggestions guys.
