Default [Guide] Convert your Edge Evolution into a Gryphon+Custom Tunes

Hey i have had a few people ask me have i converted my edge to a gryphon recently, at the time had no idea what the hell it was, heard of it but just thought it was another tuner lol. But none the-less i looked it up and found myself in a position of i did it, and the tune's that come with it seem to be more aimed at torque which is good.

For those that dont know, Gryphon is essentially a debadged, recovered Edge because edge no longer meets the requirements by CAFE, or something government related on this older tuner. The good news is since about 2012 you no longer have to send your edge in to be programmed by PHP. You can do it online.

First things first, You need to set your truck back to stock completely. This is a Must do or bad things can happen.

Now you need to download and install the Pegasus Software from GPH. If you have the old updater installed like me, just ignore it and tell the installer to remove the old drivers and install the new ones. Mine failed or had some error but still worked fine, whatever moving on.
DOWNLOAD LINK HERE

Now you can move on to plug your Edge up to the computer like normal, Once connect open Pegasus Update Client from the Power Hungry Performance folder in the start menu.

From there simply navigate to the Updates Tab, You will see Gryphon Update Manager.

Once you are at the update screen, it will find the latest Firmware and Calibration software and show your version on the device at the bottom of the screen.

Stock my tuner was like version 3.04 and something else not sure. Thats where edge stopped updating.
Now you just simply let it search for updates and pick the latest versions, Mine was 3.10.xx for Firmware, and like 2.4.xx for Calibration. Simply select the version from drop down box, then select Update All.

Your Edge will now start flashing multiple colors and acting crazy as it erases the firmware and installs the new. But do not fear Gryphon is near, have patience.

Once it is completed. It will tell you to unplug the Device, after this replug it into the computer to ensure its working properly. Now go tune your ride!

You can Order Custom tunes here http://store.gopowerhungry.com/92-2004-2008

But I am still unaware of a place to get premade custom tunes people would like to share openly, if anyone has a website link post up and ill add it to the thread.

You get custom tunes from power hungry performance in Georgia. Look them up, bill is the one who created the gryphon after working at edge and then going out on his own.

Yea i know you can get them to make it, but you would think there would be a collection of peoples custom made files somewhere they'd want to share.

Why would they share? They had to pay money to get them made. Be a bad business model don't you think???

So, does it still have the 3 tune levels like the Edge or are the stock tunes different? I get my Edge in the mail this Saturday and am planning Level 2 Tow and the tweaked settings that have been suggested by members here. Thanks for the assistance.

I'm not even sure they're compatible with other tuners. I think it requires your serial number and to your hex code.

It has the 3 canned tunes still, they just labeled them a little different.
