You are correct for installing a billet type over the honeycomb. Maybe I read his question wrong.

Either way, the question is answered for both cases.

I never liked the "billet over stock honeycomb grill", as it seems to me it will block air flow into the AC condensor/radiator. These AC systems on our truck suffer enough at idle (most complain of warm AC cooling at idle) without a grill type cover. I'd think this type would make it worse.
