Default Gotts vs DWV mod???

2004 fx4 4wd 5.4l engine...main question is finding out what the difference is between the Gotts mod and the Dwv mod? I have looked at the posts and process for completing the mod and they both have the same end result. Is one meant for the 5.4l and the other the 4.6l? Secondly, where did the names for the mod come from? I know its a dumb question but I'm interested. Thanks for the help!

Gott's = poster who made it up, it's for the 97-04H 2V 5.4s IIRC
DWV = Drain, Waste, Vent is the type of pipe used, it's for the 3V 5.4s (04+)

Same principle for both.

but dwv pipe is very hard to come by according to some people so most people use pvc pipe and paint it black instead. It works just as good from what I've been told.

It's really the ABS version of the pipe that people have a hard time finding. DWV refers to any pipe/fittings used in the outgoing side of a residential or commercial plumbing system, including PVC.

You can find all the parts for the DWV mod at Lowes. I just did it yesterday for my 05 4.6L. There was one change for me though, I didn't need the extra piece of pipe because the filter housing is close to the fenderwell already.
