Ok, here's the deal: next year I will be in the market for a newer truck. I like the 04-08 f150 and the 06-07 ish f250. If I were to get an f250 it would be a diesel no doubt, I want either one in a crewcab. Pros and cons of each. I want the best truck I can get I don't really care about to much truck. I don't really do a whole lot of hauling but if I need to then I want the new truck to be able to tackle whatever is thrown at it.

if you get a 6.0L be prepared to put about 3-5k into to bulletproof it.

Looking more at the 7.3 but the 6.0 is not shunned out yet. I'm not scared of that, I'm getting a job start of next year making 6k a month, that's why I'll be in the market lol

06 and 07 6.0 diesels are fine engines with proper maintenance dont let people scare you with the bulletproof crap.

Properly taken care of they are fine. Just be prepared to have a whole bag of worms in maintenance to deal with. It costs a lot more to do it right. And if it isnt done right it will need 'bulletproofing'

if you aren't towing a lot whats the point of a diesel. you can get a hell of a lot nicer f150 for the same price as mid-level f250. the cost of ownership of the 6.0 is inherently higher then a 5.4. if i were you id get an 09f150 with the 5.4 and 6speed auto.

If I get a diesel it will be for keeping the value. Gas trucks the value plummets. Plus diesel will be better on mileage and like previously mentioned I'll be making 6k a monthso I don't really care about cost.

With the price of diesel and the cost of maintenance a gas engine would be the way to go, plus you'll be making 6k a month so gas pricing should not be an issue.

Also if you are not worried about money what difference does resale value make? It kind of a self defeating argument.

And if you're wanting a 7.3 99-03.5 are the only ones that have them in that body style
