Since your OEM one lasted so long why not go with Motorcraft for the replacement. I will take the motocraft battery over the aftermarket ones everytime. If you want an aftermarket, I would use the Optimas.

I wish mine had lasted that long. I'm on my 2nd one in 06 now and it's going out.

Going with an Optima this time.

Got the original in my '06, too. It's still going strong, but I would rather not be on a road trip and have it leave me stranded.

I'm looking at the Diehard Platinum. It uses glass mats which are supposed to be better. It is made by the Odessey battery co..

Just replaced my original motorcraft (2005 FX4) 650 CCA battery with an Everstart Maxx 800 CCA from Walmart....

Got it for $89.99 with the 3 yr warranty valid at any walmart nationwide for replacement (just put the reciept in your glove box)

It its good enough for a Wisconsin winter up here... it will do more then fine down there in GA....

(Google Everstart... its the same company [johnson controls] with a different sticker than a TON of other brands)

I've still got my original but afraid the cold is starting to get to her ...85000 miles and it's an 06...checked the battery eye yesterday and its red ..I checked it because my gauges were fluttering and sluggish start

Put a volt meter to it if it is in a respectable range your fine.... I have a 05 fx4 and it has an original battery still reading 13.4 after all these years.... But did have to replace the alternator it has 112xxx miles on it.... If it ain't broke don't fix it jmo
