This is for 2006, I think it would work for all 04-08:

On door sticker, under "axle"

  • 19 - 3.55 non-limited slip - F-150
  • 25 - 4.10 non-limited slip - F-150
  • 26 - 3.73 non-limited slip - F-150/Mark LT
  • 27 - 3.31 non-limited slip - F-150
  • B5 - 4.10 limited slip - F-150
  • B6 - 3.73 limited slip - F-150/Mark LT
  • H9 - 3.55 limited slip - F-150

I have the B6 - 3.73 limited slip - F-150/Mark LT and by the way thank you all for all the help. By the way, what axels do we have. Is it a 60 rear 44 front?

Thanks for the info; I'm "B6". Thought I was "H9" as it seems to be geared pretty tall.

The tall gear feeling may be because of the stock tranny settings... Just got the Edge Evo tuner and even with just the trans setting the improvement was noticeable. Just a thought.

When I went to 35's I regeared and would recommend it. I went with Yukon 4.56's in mine and had no issues.

Most people with 35's are advocates of 4.56's. It's not like you can't drive with 3.73's and 35's but your torque converter and tranny will work harder, your gas milage will suffer, and your truck will be even slower then it already is. Save your $$$ and get gears.

How much was your installation for the gears?

Yeah, I am curious as well. How much for gears? I am thinking heavily about upgrading tires too.

anywhere from $1000 to 1500 is what ive heard, remember if you have a 4x4 you have to do the front as well as the rear, so the labor for dropping the front diff is added in as well
