Default Which Gauges and Colors?

I am getting 2-3 gauges soon and need help choosing which ones. I am definitely getting a trans temp and was thinking of either a voltmeter or coolant temp. What gauges would you choose?
I also need to determine which color would be best. I do a lot of night driving and want something easily readable. Red, Blue, Green, or Amber?
Should I get the 2 gauge pod and put it in my dash tray, or the 3 gauge for above the rearview mirror? I would prefer an A-pillar mount, but can't find any for the 04-08 trucks...

I would do the 3 overhead one and I would choose green to match the dash gauges. I'd even go as far as painting the mount to match the interior and it'll be like a factory option look

I would get neither. Check out roush racing. They make a gauge holder that fits in your air vents and does not restrict airflow. I'm just waiting on my gauge to get here

I can't decide. I would try to match the dash, but with them mounted overhead, it is far away from the dash and I think you can get away with using another color.
Where would you tap the trans temp wire in? Do you have to go to the trans, or is there a wire under the dash?

I'm not a fan of the vent gauges, but thanks anyways.

I'm planning on blacking out my interior, so pod color isn't a major concern. The temp gauge needs a sender that taps into the transmission pan. I'm sure there is some sender already, as my Edge will show trans temp. But I"m not sure where it is.

I'm not a fan of digital guages; I prefer the "needle pointing the reading" type. So much easier to tell when things are alright. No guessing for a moment if a numeric value is within range or not.

Good enough for race car drivers, good enough for me.

I like analog for tach, speedo, and other things that constantly change. For temps that shouldn't move I like the digital, same with voltage.

I've had both and know which I prefer.

I think I'm getting the A-pillar linked above with trans and coolant temp in blue
