Hello all, new here to the 150 forum.
FX4 question: Do ALL FX4 models have the "FX4" on the left and right rear of the bed?
I am looking at a 2008 F150 at a dealership; they gave me a printout of the truck with the nada bluebook and it has FX4 on printout, and has the VIN (I don't know if their nada goes by VIN to determine exact model, or if they put the VIN in strictly for ID purposes). I looked up the original sticker for this truck (thanks to this forum), and it does not say FX4, says XLT. It does not say FX4 on the bed on either side. (I looked up another F150 that IS an FX4 and it DOES have FX4 on the window sticker).
I looked up on NADA.com the FX4 and XLT versions of the truck, and there is a $1050 difference in favor of the FX4. I wonder if the dealer put the FX4 in by mistake or "on purpose".

What about the grill and dash? Someone might have made a clone. I think the vin says it all though. Take the PDF to them and call them out.

 

I certainly am bringing the papers. Also printed out an F250 to show that others show "FX4" on sticker. But yet, this one does not have it. I don't think it is an FX4.

Do you know what most of the differences on an FX4 are by chance?

 

Fx4 usually has 18 inch rims, says Fx4 in the instrument cluster, has the "H" bar grill, and mostly all the Fx4s ive seen have black leather or cloth seats, has black fender flares'carbon fiber trim inside and a Limited slip diff if im not wrong.

 

Skid plates too

 

It's superficial stuff but look at the badges see if they say xlt under the 150. I have the floor shifter so it says fx4 on the gauges where the gear selection would be. Plus painted bumper and skid plates.

 

thanks for info...side question regarding brake controller: Is the 2008 F150 prewired to install a brake controller (has a harness under dash) and just hav to plug controller wiring into it? My 04 F250 has this.
