FX2 tires...
Any other owners of FX2's out there that think the BFG Long Trails that came with the truck from the factory are kinda whimpy looking on their trucks. I mean they are a good tire but I think the way they look on mine they are not beefy enough to be on a truck. I understand its a 2WD truck but I think the size is a bit too small (aspect ratio, etc.) I had the same kind on my 2004 ranger edge and they looked like it went with the truck. I will keep these on here until I need to replace em but was wondering if any other FX2 owners thought the same thing I am???!!!
I was thinking that just the other day. I would like to see how wide I could get with the stock wheels, compared to a set of after market wheels. Also I have been looking into staggered wheels for the FX2. I had them on my lincoln and I think staggered are the way to go for the aggressive look I want. I just don't want to dump a whole lot of $$$ into my wheels again.
I love the wheels, its just that the tires dont have an IMO "aggresive tread pattern" that go with a truck. atleast I have time to choose replacements. hopefully another 35-40000 miles!!
Not just the look. Has anyone noticed how quickly the tread wears down?
Both of our trucks got new rubber at the beginning of '08 at the same time we got the FX2. A year on and all 3 have done similar mileage. My '92 and my dads '06 both got AT tires. But even then, the tread wear is no where near as much as on the FX2. I think they are on the verge of being illegal. And i did burnouts and s**t in my truck.
