I just bought a 2004 Lariat, Supercrew..Are all fuel tanks same size from Xlt to Lariat, Supercab and Supercrew? That would be a 25 Gal Tank. In the winter months I don't like to run low fuel to actually check. I bought truck used with no manuals and still waiting for them. Trying to figure all this out in meantime. Thanks for the help.

 

One thing you could try is to run it down to 1/2 tank and refill it. Then multiply by 2 to get total capacity.

 

no not all tanks are the same size, I just bought a 08 XLT (hense the name) and I have 35.7 gallon tank. regular size is 27 and they also have a 30 gallon option, at least on mine.

 

i have a 30 gallon on mine. my needle is definitely off, i bought gas yesterday and it was less than a quarter and it was only 18 gallons.

 

My 04 XLT Scab w/ factory tow pkg has the 35.7 ga. tank.

Yeah my needle is off too below 1/4 tank and it only took 24.5 gallons so I called the Ford dealer, and talked to the guy who sold me mine and he has the exact same truck just in 06 and he said with the needle way down by E and the light on for awhile he has never put more the 30 gallons in his truck either the ones with the 35.7 gallon tanks just have a large reserve left for you.
