Isn't this a discussion group and not a question / answer group.

as long as the discussing runs along the topic I see no issues with it taking on it's own life.

and if you want to be on that subject you hijacked it more then anyone else did in this tread. at least everyone else was still on the topic of the fuel pump problems.

$600 is a bit of money but at least it is fixed now and running right for you.

but why would the fuel pump be on a timer?

^^^this has to be the first time we agree on something, i see no thread jacking, just showing where the reset is...

it don't think it's a timer by definition, it's more of a processor

Yeah it is some kind of controller that regulates everything that is on a timer. I don't have a clue why the fuel pump runs through it but it runs a LOT smoother now. Even after new plugs, coil overs, etc it had a small miss at times. That is now completely gone!

I picked up the truck and went to get gas. Filler tube was cracked and had to replace the rubber hose. I let the dealer do that. Its a pain in the butt to get to the top of the tank...

I forgot that I have a Ford Direct (I think it is called) card. So the total cost to repair was 491.94. (Well plus what it costs to pick it up today) Woo hoo! Could have been much worse.

Hats off to Machen's Ford in Columbia, Missouri. They've always done right by me. I'm sure others could disagree, but the service side has ALWAYS treated me right.
