Fuel Pump driver module/do it yourself
Right before my son went into the Marine Corps he dropped my truck off at the local dealer to have the plugs changed. I was aware they are pretty difficult to change so I did not object. They changed the plugs and right after seeing my son off to boot camp I went back to get the truck. They told me my fuel pump control module was bad, I really needed to change it for safety reasons and they would do if for just shy of $400 bucks
, and the guy even said that included calibration. I took my chances and drove it home anyway. I was not aware of what a FPDM even was at the time so I did what everyone does now days, I googled it. Dang, it appeared it was a $165 part from Ford and takes about 10 minutes to change. I was just sure there had to be more to it.
This weeked I finally got around to changing it. It took me longer to lower my spare tire than it did to change the module, even with sanding and primer to keep the think from rusting out again. The truck runs great now. Is it reasonable to consider about $250 dollars labor for a ten minute job a rip off?

That's a rip off and calibration too??? It's pretty much plug and play. Doorman sells one that works great for about $55 on amazon and will take you 10 minutes to install. This is why I stay far away from stealer ships. Hopefully they didn't kill you on the plugs either.

ever.
