Default Fuel Filter part # error

Anyone have trouble when getting their fuel filter? Both Auto Zone and Advanced Auto Parts had the incorrect fuel filter in their system for my 07 FX4 flex...had to take the old one in and match it.

I had the same problem with my 07' FX4 FlexFuel. If I remember correctly the tube connectors on either side of the filter were too small. I took mine in and matched it up with the filter that had correctly sized tube fittings; which they said was an 08'.

I need to change mine again soon and I have since relocated so maybe the folks up here have it sorted out. But in any case I'll know where to start.

Yeah, that's what happened to me. I had everything disconnected and ready to swap and noticed the new was too small. I don't know what year they matched it with, but just did a cross reference. Can't imagine what the hassle would be if someone couldn't drive another car to switch or had to re-do it again x2.

I had that exact same problem today. The Fram book has the wrong part number in it.

Yes, I learned a lesson about Fram's attention to detail or lack thereof.
