Default fuel delivery problems! please help

Ok so here goes. 2005 f150 STX started having problems with the fuel pump driver module, ordered a new one online thought it was a great idea to wrap the bad one in plastic, till the new one came in to stop my truck from dying in the rain. Truck stalled and fit all the symptoms of the faulty fpdm, replaced it with the new part and was not getting any noise from the fuel pump. Brought truck to dealership where they said fuel pump is receiving power but not turning on... Just replaced the fuel pump, still not turning on. After tow, diagnostics, and new fuel pump im out 600 dollars today. Would i have done damage to the computer by wrapping the fpdm in plastic?? If the fuel pump is getting power, then its safe to say that everything in the curciut before it like the fpdm, inertia, and relay are all in working order? what would cause the pump not to turn on with turn of key?
