Default front shakes

Ok guys, I searched for this topic and didnt find it. My front end shakes bad when I apply the brakes over 50 mph to slow down slightly. If I get on them hard no shaking. F150 2006 Harley-Davidson edition. Brand new yokahoma avid/suv tires 22inch factory rims no mods to suspension. My sons 06 STX does it too. any ideas

shaking upon applying the brakes ( different from the typical front end shake these trucks are prone to) indicates a warped rotor, especially if accompanied by a pulsation in the brake pedal

i would have to agree, that is definitely a warped rotor problem. if you have enough thickness to the rotor, take them to a shop and have them turned to true them up. otherwise you are going to need to purchase some new ones.

Default front shakes when braking

I have the same problem as first mentioned above. I just put new Wagner rotors and pads on and its still the same. I also repacked the bearings. I'm going to the garage today to have the balance checked. Any other thoughts would help.

I had a slight shudder between 65 and 70 MPH. Had the front end aligned, tires rotated, and still had this shutter. Two weeks ago I noticed the drivers side shock leaking. Replaced both fronts, and re-aligned.

Shutter gone.

I agree with the others in that the first poster has a rotor issue.

There is a tsb about the parking brake being partially applied causing a brake shudder between 40-50mph. You have to inspect and replace the equalizer and some other stuff. My truck has the same shudder, usually from 50->43ish.

Default Problem Solved

Rear rotors are warped causing the shudder when braking
