Default front lockers

So I've searched, found a little info but really nothing solid. For light mudding/trails is a front locker(well either locker or LSD) a help or just wasted money? Consider already having a rear TruTrac. Thoughts?

A front locker will make it 100% better on trails/mud.

If you can swing the cost I would go with an ARB air locker. You flip a switch when you need it and it is practically indestructible. Limited Slip differentials are pretty much useless. With Limited Slip IF one tire looses traction and starts to spin all power goes to that tire. It does work great as long as you don't break traction.

that would be an open diff, I know the differences between an LS and air/e lockers, I'm just wondering if the price difference merits the use with say 10% of my time being spent off road where I would even need a locker/ls

actually an open diff always puts power to 1 tire no matter what. I have been stuck enough with my 96 to know that no matter what the other one never gets powered.
