Default Front Level

Is there an alternative way to level the front of a 07 F-150 FX4? I assumed the previous owner had put a spacer on the front end. Well I just replaced the shocks and struts to Rancho quicklifts. When I removed the old struts there wasn't a spacer on them and they appear to be the stock struts so I'm a little confused. Any ideas?

If you are wondering why the truck is level front and rear, the torsion bars have probably been cranked to raise the front.

That's what I thought but I wasn't sure if the 04-08s had them. How would I tell if it was cranked? I would like to undo that because I've got leveling struts on the front. Could a cranked torsion bar cause a pop when I turn?

There's no torsion bars on 04-08's...

That's what I though. I'm still confused though. When I had the old struts I had a pop when I would turn. Someone mentioned probably the strut bushings but the pop is still there after replacing the struts.

Could be the sway bar bushings. I had a thump/pop on my SD when I would turn, checked everything and all seemed tight, even the bushings. You have to take the weight off of them to properly check. After replacing the bushings it disappeared.

Thanks. That sounds reasonable. So basically jack up the front end and wiggle the sway bar to see if they move a lot?

I have a thump too when turning over a bump. I'm gonna check my sway bar end link bushings too.

Yes, and there doesn't need to be much play in them. If there's any at all things will shift around and make the noise you're hearing.
