Default Front diff cover top bolt

Went to change my gear oil today after the break-in of new gears.

How the hell are you supposed to get that top bolt off the front cover? I can't fit crap up in there. Do they make a special tool or something?

Thanks

i would say, a cutting torch, a big hammer, a roll of duct tape, bailing wire, and a bottle of vodka would take care of it! lol hahahaha i dont know, i can get to mine easily

Thanks.

I got it with an offset wrench from the neighbor. I hope it will be a hair easier once I lift it.

Ditto for me. Couldn't get a socket on it with the brake line, but got mine with a regular combination wrench okay.

It wasn't the brake line for me. It was the pumpkin, some thick radiator like hose and this other tube that looks like an axle housing. I found that if I removed that stupid plastic part below the oil filter that makes oil spill in two places, I could reach one arm over the cross-member, which helped a bit. I think I will leave the stupid plastic thing out

The oil filter wasn't in the way. The plastic part kept me from going at it from a straight shot, over the cross member. What I did was reach my right arm over the cross-member and hold the wrench tght against the bolt, then hit the other end of the wrench with my dead blow hammer until it broke loose, then it was easy. A bunch of permatex was on the threads and it was over-torqued, making it difficult to get started.
