From what i found out the best option is an air locker or E-locker, that way you can turn it off. I am in the middle of putting an eaton e-lock in my truck. will let you know how it turns out

ARB makes a locker also...you must do some serious wheeling...

You can put almost anything in there. It's an 8.8" axle.
The E-lockers as previously mentioned are cool, Auburn and Eaton make limited slips. Detroit truetracs work great, and the detroit locker will fit too, but I don't recommend it up front.

Its a 8.8" 28 spline axle, same as the rear of a Ranger. You can get anything for it. I have personally driven different trucks, one with a trac-lock, on with a true-trac and one with an e-locker. I will warn you that there is no going back to an open after you have had a locker/limited slip in the front.

You don't need to do serious off-roading to appreciate a locked front axle. I would've loved to had it this weekend getting firewood. Single-laned switchbacks covered in snow and having two people going opposite directions...
Do the Fx4 have the 8.8 also? I heard that they had the 9.75.

Snow is the reason. got stuck 2 times last year plowing. thats 2 times too many. The reason i went with an on/off locker is because i think it should be turned off when its not needed. it can effect steering and i think make the truck drive different esp. in turns. if im wrong please chime in. as then i overspent to get what i thought was needed.

I'm looking at the Eaton E-Locker or Auburn Ected, simply to have that selectability without running airlines. The Ox Locker sounds like a good one, but I'm not sure if it would work in our front axle.

Cowboy, doesnt your HD have a larger front diff that the rest of us? I remember seeing somewhere that the HD's (not Harley Davidson)have the F-250 front diff.
