Default Newb Forscan Questions..

Hey guys and gals. know there's been posts similar to this before, so my apologies for that in advance.

I've never used Forscan though I've read a little about it here on the forums, so it's still very new to me right now. Is there possibly a master list (PDF perhaps?) of all the editable parameters available in Forscan? Looking to add cruise control to my 2005 XL (haven't bought the switches just yet) and am curious to know if I'd be able to program the PCM without going through the dealer via this software? I believe it's enabled/disabled via Ford's IDS software (which would mean a dealer trip for the cruise control enable, unless Forscan has that capability)

Also, what parameters are available for the 11th gen models? I don't have any power features in my truck specifically, so the only programmable module I have would be the PCM. Forscan's price point is a good one, but would it be worth buying for my truck being an XL?

Thanks!

Don’t have any personal experience, but I believe there’s not much for our generation of trucks that can be done with forscan. vs 09 and above.

I don't think so, as this is my first thread asking about Forscan (and cruise control enable)..I had asked about tow mirrors in a thread I made last week, but I've re-evaluated my upgrade list for the truck decided to hold off on those for now.

@ivanthebear: From what I've read here, it seems like that's the case.

Oh right.....I drafted a message but never submitted it.

I wasn't sure enough of my answer and how it applied to your model year.

Never mind. I'm not losing my mind after all.

I suggest you read the FORScan thread but again, that thread doesn't pertain to your model year that I know of.

Haha, you're all good! I'd probably be one to do the same thing as well, haha. Anyway, yeah I'll read the thread again. So far I haven't really seen anything for the 2005's. I think my original intent for this thread was to know if PCM programming for cruise control enable was possible, and also if there were any editable parameters available for the 11th gens.. (from what I've read so far is that only dealers/techs with Ford IDS are able to program the PCM for the cruise).

Thanks so far for the replies guys, very much appreciated!

Can’t do much of anything with Forscan on the 11th gen trucks.

Yeah that seems to be the case. Thanks for that.

Edit: Started new thread for help trying to find dealers that'll do PCM programming for the cruise control. I haven't bought the switches yet as I want to make sure I'd be able to get it programmed. More info here:
